Inside Hogwarts;
[ ]Great Hall; (1 sub-board)
Double doors in the Entrance Hall lead to the Great Hall, which is a vast chamber with an enchanted ceiling that mirrors the sky outside. Lightning and thunder flash across it during storms, on clear nights it appears deep black and full of stars, and it has been full of sunshine or covered with gray clouds. For special occasions the ceiling has been transformed; warm, dry enchanted show fell for a Christmas celebration and colorful confetti fell during Lockhart's Valentine's Day celebration. There are windows in the Great Hall near the front door, and at night the room is lit with thousands of floating candles. There are four long tables for each of the four houses, and the teachers sit at a fifth table on a raised platform at the front of the room.
There are usually four feasts each year; the start-of-term feast, Halloween feast, Christmas feast, and the end-of-year feast. The staff and students eat all their regular meals in the Great Hall, and the Owl Post arrives during breakfast. After dinner the students are expected to go to the library or their house common rooms for studying and socializing. The Great Hall is not used for studying.

[ ]Hospital Wing;
The hospital wing is entered through double doors, and it is a large dormitory that has beds with white linen sheets lined up on two sides of the walls; The Healer's office and her living quarters are adjacent. Students and staff who are injured or ill can go to the hospital wing, where most illnesses and injuries can be healted. However, for more serious or long-term injuries or illness, a student or staff member is sent to St. Mungo's Hospital.

[ ]Library;
The library of Hogwarts was on the fourth floor of the castle, and the librarian was a stern woman named Madame Irma Pince. She was a jealous guardian of her treasured books, and did her best to protect them from the grubby fingers of any students who might deface or despoil them. No food was allowed in the library - especially chocolate Easter eggs. The library closed each night at 8 p.m.
The library contained thousands of books, all relating to the Wizarding world. The library had many sections, including a section on dragons, an Invisibility section, and a Restricted section, where the books concerning Dark Arts were kept. The only way to get a book from this section was a signed note of approval from a teacher.
The books were charmed to prevent them being defaced, but some students overcame these spells. Students could request books; during the basilisk attacks, the book Hogwarts A History had a two-week waiting list.

[ ]Gryffindor Common Room; (2 sub-boards)
Location: Seventh floor, in Gryffindor Tower.
Entrance: The portrait of a fat lady in a pink silk dress hides a round hole in the wall, which is the entrance. When the correct password is stated, the portrait swings up to allow people to enter.
The centerpiece of the Gryffindor Common Room is a large fireplace. It also contains a large number of chairs and tables, and a noticeboard on which important announcements are placed. Two staircases lead up to the dormitories, where the students sleep. There is one set of dormitories for girls and one for boys. The stairs to the girls rooms are guarded by a charm that turns them into a slide if a boy attempts to climb them. The boys' stairs are not protected in such a way, however, which must leave ample snogging opportunities when required.

[ ]Hufflepuff Common Room; (2 sub-boards)
Location: Despite some early evidence to the contrary it is now known that the Hufflepuff common room is located below ground level (fittingly, in the earth). It is accessed via a still-life painting near the kitchens. This suggested that the common room is on the first floor. It has now become clear that the wandering Hufflepuffs were simply lost - although even the first years had been in school for two months by this stage, so the Troll must really have cared them out of their wits to make them so confused!
Entrance: Still-life picture near the kitchens.
The Hufflepuff common room is a cosy and welcoming room, with yellow hangings and fat armchairs. Little underground tunnels lead to to the dormitories, which have round doors.

[ ]Ravenclaw Common Room; (2 sub-boards)
Location: High in Ravenclaw tower, in the west of the castle.
Entrance: The entrance to the Ravenclaw common room is unconventional, as it is simply a "plain expanse of aged wood" with a bronze eagle-shaped knocker on it.
The Ravenclaw common room is one of the airiest rooms in Hogwarts. The walls are punctuated by large windows which give an excellent view of the mountainous scenery around Hogwarts. The walls are also draped in blue and bronze silks. Both the carpet and domed ceiling are midnight-blue, and the ceiling is painted with stars.

[ ]Slytherin Common Room; (2 sub-boards)
Location: Somewhere in the heart of the labyrinth of passages in the dungeons.
Entrance: In a bare, damp stone wall. A concealed door slides open when the correct password is given.
The Slytherin common room is a low, long room with rough stone walls and ceiling. Round green lamps, hung from the ceiling with chains, light the room. In front of the door is a fire-place with an elaborately-carved mantelpiece. Carved chairs are dotted around the room.

[ ]Room of Requirement;
This magical room was on the seventh floor opposite the tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy trying to teach trolls to dance the ballet. To make the room appear, a person had to walk past the blank wall three times and concentrate hard on what is needed. A door then magically appeared, and the room would fit that person's needs.
Though the Room of Requirement can seemingly defy the laws of physics, such as the law of conservation of matter, it is unable to provide food, since food is one of the five exceptions to Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration.

[ ]Owlery;
Both the school owls and the students' owls live in the Owlery, which is a cold and drafty circular stone room at the top of the West Tower. The windows do not have glass so the owls can easily fly in and out. The floor is covered in straw, owl droppings, and the regurgitated bones of small animals. Hundreds of owls of every kind sleep on perches that rise up to the top of the tower. Any student can use the school owls to mail letters and packages.
If an owl is injured, the Care of Magical Creatures teacher nurses it back to health before it returns to the Owlery.

[ ]The Trophy Room;
On the third floor, Hogwarts had a trophy room where all the old awards, cups, plates, shields, and statues were kept in crystal display cases. There was also a list of the head boys and girls. The trophy room was adjacent to a long gallery full of suits of armor. Peeves liked to bounce around the trophy room. Tom Riddle searched the shields in the trophy room for a trace of his father, and it was here that Ron scrubbed Tom Riddle's award for Special Services to the School.

[ ]Secret Passages;
The Marauder's Map showed seven secret passages leading out of Hogwarts. Four were known by Filch, so they weren't useful to mischief makers. One of these passages was behind the statue of Gregory the Smarmy, and another one was caved in.
If you try to find them and use them; be careful and try not to get caught.

[ ]Corridors;
There are many upon many corridors inside of Hogwarts. If you are a first year, it is easy to get lost inside of the castle. Watch out for the stairs as well; they like to change and move around all the time.

00
[ ]Bathrooms;
Moaning Myrtle haunted a girls' toilet on the second floor. This room was a gloomy and depressing bathroom with a large, cracked, and spotted mirror over chipped sinks and flaked, scratched wooden doors to the stalls. Hermione brewed the Polyjuice Potion in a cauldron perched on a toilet in this room. Ginny threw Riddle's diary into a toilet, and Harry found it in this room. Moaning Myrtle had been killed by the basilisk in this bathroom. The sink in front of her toilet had a tiny snake scratched on the side of one of the copper taps - this was the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets.

[ ]Quidditch Picth;
The Quidditch Pitch is on the opposite side of the castle than the forest. It is regularly used for practice by the house teams, and has enough terracing and/or seating to accommodate much of the school when a game is played.
Moderator: Ron Weasley
00
[ ]Hagrid's Hut;
Hagrid's Hut is situated on the edge of both the Forbidden Forest and also the cliff-top on which Hogwarts rests. It is a single-room wooden structure with a big fire and a Hagrid-sized bed in one corner. You can usually always find the Trio here having a drink and/or snack with Hagrid.
Moderator: Ron Weasley
00
[ ]The Front Gates;
The main gates to the Hogwarts castle are located to the west of the lake. This is the opposite side of the castle to the Forbidden Forest. The gates themselves have statues of winged boars which sit on top of them.
Moderator: Ron Weasley
00
[ ]The Forbidden Forest;
This is located to the east of the castle. The forest forms a great barrier on this side of the castle which extends as far as the grounds do. If you decide to wander through the forest, beware of what may lurk in the shadows and behind every stone and tree.
Moderator: Ron Weasley
00
[ ]The Lake;
The Lake is situated to the south of the castle and to the east of the main gates. The castle itself stands on a cliff overlooking the lake, and rolling lawns lead across the grounds, past Hagrid's hut, and towards the forest. A giant squid, amongst other things, lives in the lake, and it is said that the school toilets flush into it, which may not be a very good idea.

[ ]The Whomping Willow
This is to the south of the castle, next to the Forbidden Forest. It was planted when Remus Lupin attended the school, to cover for his lycanthropy. It is a particularly dangerous plant, and will attack anyone who comes near it, especially if they crash their car into it. According to Professor Snape, it is also rather valuable.

Hogsmeade Village;
[ ]Madam Puddifoot's;
This tea shop is popular with young couples on Hogsmeade weekends. A small shop located on a side street, it tends to be a bit stuffy inside due to the crowds. The windows steam up and the gaudy tables and chairs are all claimed by teenagers holding hands or kissing over cups of tea and coffee. A bell over the door announces customers; the round tables are decorated with lacy napkins and (undoubtedly flowered) china sugar bowls.
Madam Puddifoot, naturally, owns the shop and serves the customers. She is rotund with black hair pulled up in a sleek bun. She delights in decorating her cozy tearoom for Valentine's Day, recruiting golden cherubs to shower young romantics with pink confetti.

[ ]Hog's Head;
The Hog's Head sits at the end of a side street, marked by a sign depicting a boar's head dripping blood onto a white cloth. When the wind blows, the sign squeaks on its rusted bracket. The inn has only one room for the bar. Dirt is packed over the stone floor and hardly any sunshine filters through the filthy bay windows. Candle stumps on each wooden table dimly light the room. A goat-like odor permeates the whole place. As the glasses and bottles are very dirty, and 'cleaned' with equally dirty rags, it is not unusual for patrons to bring their own beverage receptacles.

00
[ ]The Three Broomsticks;
A more popular inn than the Hog's Head, the Three Broomsticks sits on the High Street in Hogsmeade. It is often warm, crowded, and a bit smoky - but clean and welcoming. A mirror behind the bar reflects the cozy atmosphere, and drinks are served in glasses and in pewter tankards. Madam Rosmerta, the pretty and stylish owner, has been at the Three Broomsticks for at least twenty years, since Harry's father was a Hogwarts student. Harry and his friends enjoyed drinking butterbeers at the inn, where they frequently encountered Hagrid as well. On less fortunate occasions they also met Rita Skeeter there, 'cause everyone loves the Three Broomsticks.

[ ]Honeydukes;
Honeydukes, the sweetshop, is nearly everyone's favorite, and even Percy deems it worth a visit. Located on the High Street of Hogsmeade, it also can be reached by secret passage from Hogwarts. The passage begins at the one-eyed witch statue in the middle of the third-floor hallway. At the word 'Dissendium,' the hump on her back opens to reveal a tunnel. The underground passage ends with a trapdoor into Honeydukes' cellar, where extra crates of candy are kept.

00
[ ]Zonko's Joke Shop;
This was Fred and George Weasley's favorite shop, of course-and Filch's least favorite. Zonko's is another High Street shop, a purveyor of Dungbombs, Stink Pellets, Belch Powder, Hiccup Sweets, Whizzing Worms, Frog Spawn Soap, Nose-Biting Teacups, and Fanged Frisbees.

[ ]Scrivenshaft's Quill Shop;
And this would be Hermione and Percy's favorite shop, also located on the High Street. Inside are rows of assorted copper ink pots and quills, from pheasant feathers to black and gold ones.
Moderator: Ron Weasley
00
[ ]Gladrags Wizardwear;
Gladrags presumably sells robes, cloaks, and the like, but we primarily know it as a good place to buy wild and crazy socks. Harry, Ron, and Hermione bought some for Dobby after he helped with the Second Triwizard Task. They bought him a pair with twinkling gold and silver stars, and a pair that would shriek when they started to smell bad.
Moderator: Ron Weasley
00
[ ]Dervish and Banges;
This shop sells and repairs magical equipment, such as Sneakoscopes. It is located at the end of the High Street on the road leading to the edge of Hogsmeade-near where Harry and his friends met Sirius, in the form of Padfoot, before the Third Task of the Triwizard Tournament.
Moderator: Ron Weasley
00
[ ]Post Office;
The Hogsmeade Post Office boasts at least three hundred owls perched on shelves. Various breeds and sizes are available, depending on the speed needed for delivery, and they wear color-coded bands accordingly. The smallest are the palm-sized Scops (like Pigwidgeon), and the biggest the Post Office boasts are the Great Greys (like an Errol in his prime). The Post Office is located on the High Street.

[ ]Shrieking Shack
The most haunted place in Britain! Or not. Situated somewhat uphill from central Hogsmeade, this ruined house is avoided by the villagers, Hogwarts ghosts, and even Fred and George Weasley, who gave up trying to get in through the boarded windows and doors. If anyone were to get inside, they would be surprised at what they saw: stains everywhere, bite marks on nearly everything, and pieces of furniture shattered. The interior of the Shack bears evidence to a much more physical haunting than any ghosts are capable of, although it also shows signs of disuse--peeling wallpaper and a blanket of dust over everything.
The Shrieking Shack is connected to Hogwarts by a secret passage that leads from under the base of the Whomping Willow to an opening in the floor of the main downstairs room in the Shack. From this main room, there's a hallway leading to a decrepit staircase. There are several rooms upstairs, one of which is a master bedroom with a once-grand four-poster bed. However, the bed and the other furniture in the Shack probably never knew proper use.

Knockturn Alley;
[ ]Borgin and Burkes;
Borgin and Burkes is run by the oily Mr Borgin, a stooping man with greasy hair and pince-nez. The shop sells a variety of Dark Arts equipment, including the Hand of Glory, an assortment of human bones, a hangman's rope, a cursed necklace, and an array of leering masks that line the walls. Mr Borgin both buys and sells goods, although despite his greasy manner he may not be as fond of his Dark clientele as he makes out. He certainly had more than a few bad words to say about Lucius Malfoy after he'd left the shop.

In, Out, and Around London;
[ ]Azkaban;
Azkaban is the horrible wizard's prison where witches and wizards are incarcerated for their crimes. Located on a tiny island in the freezing waters of the North Sea, Azkaban is not like Muggle prisons that rely on iron bars and heavy security to keep their prisoners in line. Instead, until 1996 at least, Azkaban depended upon some of the most fearsome creatures on earth to guard its prisoners: Dementors.
Dementors are sightless, soul-sucking beings that feed on happy emotions and positive energy. Proximity to them causes people to relive their most painful memories. They take away every positive, happy feeling until a person is left wallowing in his or her own misery, unable to see any way out of the pain he or she is feeling. In essence, Dementors take away hope, and in the absence of hope most prisoners either give up the will to live or go mad. Trapped inside their own pain and incapable of even a single cheerful thought, the majority of Azkaban's prisoners went insane within a few weeks and eventually died.

[ ]The Burrow;
The Burrow, home of the Weasley family, is a towering, crooked cottage just outside Ottery St. Catchpole, a fictional village located in Devon, England. The house is six stories high, with four or five chimneys, and is most likely held up by magic (indeed, it is magically concealed from the Muggles in the village nearby). The entrance to the house is announced by a lopsided sign, and surrounded by a jumble of Wellington boots and several chickens that live in the front yard.

00
[ ]Diagon Alley;
Diagon Alley is a twisted cobbled street located at (or at least accessed on foot from) the centre of London, which acts as the main shopping centre of wizarding Britain. When shopping for those particularly tricky items (such as a Lunascope or a Nimbus 2000), Diagon Alley is the only place to go. While a number of wizard-related items can be bought from other places, such as Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley seems to be an important location for the wizarding populace of Britain. And, as Hogsmeade is the only purely magical village in the whole of Britain, it is unclear whether magical shops can be found anywhere else.
For the majority of the wizards of the world, the location of Diagon Alley is irrelevant as most reach it either by Apparating or by using the Floo Network, both of which provide a means of nearly instantaneous travel. For those witches and wizards who wish to walk, or who are unable to reach Diagon Alley by magical means, the entrance can be found via a tiny, grubby-looking pub on the Charing Cross Road called The Leaky Cauldron.

[ ]12 Grimmauld Place;
The home of the Black family (or as they modestly prefer to call themselves, The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black) is hidden between numbers eleven and thirteen on Grimmauld Place, a twenty minute walk from King's Cross railway station in London. The street is situated around a small, shabby square and is hardly located in an idyllic area of the city: the tall houses are universally grimy and dilapidated, and many have broken windows and paint peeling from the doors. Bags of rotting rubbish lie uncollected next to front steps, infecting the air with their pungent aroma.

00
[ ]Malfoy Manor;
Located in Wiltshire, in the south of England, Malfoy Manor is a large and opulent house which has belonged for generations to one of the oldest aristocratic wizarding families in Britain [COS12]. The Malfoys' wealth and influence is infamous, as is their pure-blood mania and fascination for the Dark Arts. As such, Malfoy Manor contains a number of Dark Artifacts. At first the Ministry found nothing during these raids, but then they learned of a secret chamber under the drawing room floor where a number of "very valuable Dark Arts stuff" was hidden.

[ ]Ministry of Magic; (10 sub-boards)
The Ministry of Magic is located somewhere just below the surface of downtown London. To get to the Ministry, you must head for an old, shabby telephone booth down in a small graffiti-filled alleyway. Once you get inside, pick up the receiver, hold it above your head, and dial 6 - 2 - 4 - 4 - 2 (which happens to spell out the word "MAGIC"). The voice of the receptionist fills the air. She first tells you to state your name and business. When you have been approved, you get a small silver badge that lists your name and business as stated. You are then told, if you are a visitor, to submit to a search and present your wand for registration at the security desk, which is at the far end of the Atrium. Then the telephone booth begins to descend like an elevator, finally arriving in a magnificent mahogany-panelled entrance hall with a highly polished, dark wood floor. Welcome to the Ministry of Magic.

[ ]Number 4 Privet Drive;
The house of the Dursley family looks exactly how you would expect it to: it is a large, square, 4-bedroom detached house, quite befitting its large, square, 4-chinned owner. The gardens are immaculately kept, the hedges are neatly clipped and everything is exactly as Vernon Dursley would like it. Except, of course, that Harry Potter lived there. That bit is something he most definitely did not like.

[ ]St. Mungo's Hospital;
St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries is the wizarding hospital located in the heart of Muggle London, England. Patients go to St. Mungo's for a wide variety of reasons, ranging from common illnesses like dragon pox to more complicated ailments like spell damage and werewolf bites. Like all aspects of the wizarding world, St. Mungo's is hidden in plain site, disguised as a dilapidated, red-brick department store that muggles see but largely ignore. Wizards or witches who are unable to reach St. Mungo's by magical transportation can enter through Purge and Dowse, Ltd. To Muggles, Purge and Dowse Ltd. is nothing more than a rundown, old-fashioned department store that is always closed for refurbishment. The "store" boasts a window display containing "a few chipped dummies with their wigs askew, standing at random and modeling fashions at least ten years out of date". By leaning in and talking to one of the unsightly dummies, patients and visitors can gain access to the hospital, stepping directly through the magical store front and into St. Mungo's reception area.
